Room
redesign can breathe new life into tired rooms!
Not planning on moving, but need a new look for your
home? Do your rooms look tired and dated? Did you just
purchase a piece of furniture that you love, but can't decide if it
"goes" with the rest of the room?
One Savvy Move Redesign can guide you in the process of
creating a home that you love. Using your existing furniture and
accessories we can work with you to update and refine the elements that
create a comfortable atmosphere. Through the use of color, lighting,
furniture placement, artwork, accessories and organizational tools, your
home can become a sanctuary that reflects the person you are.
Home is about much more that shelter, home feeds the spirit,
gives life to ideas and facilitates dreams. If your home is a
source of stress rather than calm, redesign can help.
It's not about how much you spend on
furnishings or renovations, it's about careful consideration of all of
the items in your home. It's about letting go of things you don't like
or find useful, it's about creating a home that functions for you.
We help transform your home by re-organizing
what you have (sometimes using it in different ways), helping you let go
of items you no longer need and perhaps improving the lighting and
colors. Simple cost effective changes can transform an entire house.
Where desired, new finishes or furnishings can
be added for a completely new look that better meets the needs of your
family.

| The
Power Of Color
Few things are as economical or as powerful in
redesigning a room as new paint and accessory colors.
Color can have a dramatic impact on how people
feel in a space and respond to it. Color
denotes moods, atmosphere and expectations. Who can argue that we
associate orange with Halloween and red and green with Christmas? Color
consultants know that there are three types of responses to color; the
physical which is believed to be innate; the behavioral which is learned
from cultural influences; the emotional which may be either learned or
innate.

The Beauty of Light
How we see a room is determined by how we light it. Not every room is
meant for full morning light, nor do we want mood lighting in our home
office. The sources and quality of light in a room determine how we feel
in that room and how well it functions for its intended purpose.
There are three types of light; direct, indirect
and artificial. Direct light is ideal as it gives us the most
accurate translation of color. Indirect light enhances both the warmer
and cooler tones in coolers, depending on whether the light source is
natural or artificial.
Color and lighting that complement one another can change the whole
feel of a home. |
Here are some examples of responses and associations to certain colors:

love, passion, anger, hot, forceful, increases heart rate and blood
pressure, stop, fire

- BLUE:
calm, loyal, distant, cool, peaceful, non-threatening, lowers blood
pressure and appetite, wealth

open, go
